strange ticking noise

Happened several times now - can only describe as a very fast ticking noise heard after I turn engine off coming from what appears to be the cd/radio set. Stops after a few seconds and has only happened infequently. Thought may be connected to alarm system activating or may be battery not charged up because of limited use.

What do you think ?

Any help appreciated.

Can't help with this one, sound wierd. Is it the aircon switching itself off?

When I sit in the car after a run switch off and in about 5 mins get a noise as if a flap is closeing,after 3yrs with no probs put it down as it puting itself to sleeep.

Mine done this about 2 weeks ago. I was getting something out of the boot, unlocked car and heard this noise. Didn't take any notice to be honest, my 3 series wa always making weird little noises from behind the dash.

Got in car about an hour later and my time had reset to --:-- and my MPG, average speed and trip meter had rest to nil. Thought it mightbbe battery so checked and all looked ok. Hasn't happened again but keeping an ear out for anything.

yep mine does the exact same thing , rapid ticking noice from behind the dash just after i turn the car off , not all the time but at least 50% of the time .

Thanks for replies - it appears BMW's do make strange noises especially after turning off engine ! I'll ignore it and see what happens.
