Cant see the point in a Lamborghini as a police car.

Surely a RS4 type car would be better!

I know what you mean, I can't decide if (those so inclined) would give up the chase because it's a Lamborghini or take this as a reason to make the chase even more.

I still have a soft spot for 'em, as I had one as my second car. They went like sh!t of a shovel compared to most cars of the time

I believe the Italian one was a gift to the Polizia from Lamborghini themselves. They hadn't had it long before they wrote it off.
