my sat nav works but its silent - any ideas ? is there a selection of voices somewhere ? or volume control ?

That's the best kind of satnav in my view, nothing worse than having that voice prattling on when I'm trying to focus on the task in hand!

ahh but i need it as im either in raptures listening to the exhaust or blastin acdc and i get distracted  or.. could be my age of course :o
senile old duffer misses the turning - again !

seriouly, the satnav has no voice, it goes quiet when im playing music so i know its tryin or thinks its doing something, but no voice,

I have this problem too! It was like that when i bought it and i never used the built-in satnav so haven't investigated it much. Did yours suddenly stop working or was it like that when you bought it?

My satnav volume is all the way up. When voice guidance is on, the music goes quiet but there's no voice as you say.

When the music goes quiet, turn up the volume control -it should bring up the voice. Hopefully.

On other cars I’ve had as above, get it to repeat an instruction & whilst it’s doing that immediately hit the volume + button... bit like increasing the ringing volume on a Bluetooth connected phone

I've tried this but the volume is already on full.

Sounds like you have a fault.
Just been out to mine to check - If I set a route, click on 'Instruction' then the voice comes on and I can vary the volume by the volume control knob (left hand knob) Or as above can alter volume when music goes quiet.

I normally have the 'Instruction' deselected (long push of right hand knob) and so don't use voice very often.
