Strange odor smell coming from A/C

I been smelling a weird smell everyttime I turn on the A/C. It only stays for a minute or two when turning on the A/C. Kind of burn your noise when you smell it. This just started happening this week. I also notice a small dripping under the car like right in the middle but It looks like water, It deff is not oil.
 
the water you see is from the A/C condensation drain.......its normal......for the smell try changing the pollen filter,
 
If it smells it needs a clean and a re-gas.As above the water drip is normal.
 
You can buy a A/C freshened, kills the bacteria in the system that normally causes the smell, think Autoglym do one for about £15 , but ther are a lot about, may be worth giving a go before a re- gas.
 
Why would the need for a regas cause a smell? Surely it's a totally sealed system so would merely cause reduced cooling performance?
Not disagreeing with observation, just curious.
