Strange noise from wheel

My mate hit a pot hole at 70 , ever since then I've noticed a tinny noise coming from the front wheel. Nothing visible but I think it might be the front spring. Any ideas?

It is more noticeable when on a bumpy road

:(

I've had to replace 2 already. Think it has something to do with the old cobble roads in Edinburgh. If it's the coil what would be the best option for a 2l sport. Think I need something sturdy

Those flipping cobbles certainly make the zed knock and rattlle. I've been getting a knocking noise for a while when driving over the cobbles every mornng along Great King Street and Circus Place. I've had the springs and bushes checked and are ok. My zed is currently in the stealers today getting the front near side top strut mount replaced.

What type of noise is it your getting?

Just had all 4 coils checked and they are fine. Any ideas what it could be?

It only becomes noticeable when I'm on a bumpy road . No extra noise when turning

just seen this, so ignore my post in the other thread ;)

Is it a "knock knock" type noise?
Could be your droplinks..

It's hard to describe the noise. It's like something is knocking the alloy when going over a bump but it sounds like a tin can crushing?

from the "tin can crushing" part, I'd instantly think springs, but you say you got them properly looked at.

next guess would be droplinks, as they can become worn and "knock" especially when traversing bumpy ground.

If you turn your wheels to full lock, you should be able to grab hold of them (they're the small thin vertical bar attached to the back side of the strut).
Give them a wiggle around with your hand and see if they move freely - any real play and they're knackered (they're not that expensive tho, and very easy to get changed).

If not that, I'd imagine its a bush somewhere on the arm?

Yes just had springs checked , they removed my wheels to have a good look. Imagine the noise of a large tin pan and a spoon battering the sides.

Thanks for the help

Do you have a photo of the guard plate thingy
??

its the bit of shitty thin metal that sits behind your discs (car side).
they pretty much cover the entire flat side of the rear of the discs.

the thin black crappy thing in this pic, between the disc and the yellow strut leg

Ok , after a bit if testing today I have found that it's louder when the clutch is down and I'm going over bumps . No noise when road is flat. It almost sounds like a bad gear change ?? Hope not :(
