Strange headlight issue!

I opted to change my headlights to the Angel eye units and they have worked fine.

However I’ve noticed that the internal switch doesn’t seem to put them on. The reason I say this is when I switch to side lights the sidelights come on, the dash lights up and the alarm goes off if I leave the car with them still switched on.

If I do this with the headlight option - no headlights, no change to the dashboard lighting and no alarm!

Any ideas?

I have a vague idea but I'd need to know what car (I assume E85) and what lights you have gone for. I do know that the wiring for the angel eyes on the ones I ordered is separate to the standard connector so that might be the best place to start.

Sorry it's a 2006 E85 and the light were called 2xcite brand new off EBay!

[ref]jock156[/ref], OK, I've had a look and the lights are similar to the ones I used. The standard plug should cover the normal light operation and adjusters with the loose separate wires for the angel eyes. That leads to a heap of questions but as the rings would normally stay on as you turn the switch to main beam, I would guess that you've managed to pick up a short when wiring them in. Is there any chance you could send over a pic or any details about the installation instructions (I didn't get any with mine).
