Occassionally I get a double bong when I turn ignition on. No worning lights though. Not low temperature as its about 9 to 10 degrees.

Any ideas please.

Have you tried not using a bong before you drive................ :tumbleweed:

I'll get my coat

Could it be that the door is open when you start ? My car has never bonged at me, so I have no idea I'm afraid :(

Are you sure you're not listening to the hourly news on the radio? :poke:

Sorry, Nosa stole my original flippant reply!

Got 2 beeps this morning when I put the key in the ignition and turned to position 2. No dash lights, just two beeps (not bongs). It's not temp related, it's had oil and inspection 2 less than 6weeks ago.

Any ideas?

It's not consistent. What is my p&j trying to tell me?!?!?!? I haven't cleaned her for 2 weeks, maybe she knows :-s

I vote for a sensor going bad, such as passenger occupancy mat. As good a guess as any?

Next time it happens check your boot is closed .

Why do you say that? Strangley enough the two most recent times its happened the boot has been open but HAS been closed, it could be the sensor is a bit tempermental as 99% of the time its fine.

No issues with the airbag light not going out and I did have the passenger occupancy go bad on the wifes E46 and no 'Bongs' then!

I had the same issue , intermittent bong , it had me baffled . turns out it was me inadvertently pressing the boot button on the key as I was entering the car and the lid popping up .
