Strange alarm sounding

I have searched the forum but not found any thing like what happened to me today.

I left my girfirend's house this morning and after a mile realised that i forgot my phone so I went back and parked across the gates to our parking area. Went and got my phone no more than 5 mins. As i passed the back of the car the alarm sounded but no lights flashed and having not heard my alarm before thought it was the car behind. I unlocked the car with the key fob got in and started the engine. Drove 10m and realised that the sound was coming from my car so I stopped. Removed the the key and locked / unlocked the car while inside(with fob). The sound continued. I got out shut the door locked and unlocked the car with the fob and the sound stopped.

No issues before or since.

Strange or what?
 
Similar thing happened to me - I was driving the car off a petrol station forecourt thinking "which idiot's left their car alarm going" - turns out it was me.

Got out of the car, the alarm was sounding but the lights weren't flashing. Used the remote to arm and then unarm, and that fixed it. If it helps it's never happened since, and that was over a year ago I reckon.

PS. I had a new bonnet sensor fitted under AUC warranty (a common problem apparently) - but can't remember whether this happened before or after (not much help I know). :?
 
Thanks for your help guys, not happened again and everything seems normal.
