I hope you are able to resolve this! I just bought springs from a member on the forum yesterday and although he wanted to do PayPal friends and family I insisted on business and payed the extra % ghat PayPal take. It’s a scary thing to bank transfer money irreversibly to someone you don’t know!

That said, I’ve bought lots of parts through this forum over the last decade using PayPal, bank transfer and cash on collection without ever having a problem.
ChimV8’s predicament is atypical on this forum and very bad form on the part of the OP.

PayPal friends and family offer no payment protection unfortunately.
I’m not sure if you can raise a Charge Back from your bank or whether best to call them and dispute the transaction stating you have not received the goods and you have tried to contact the seller.
It might be trickier if you used a debit card.

I would hope the forum can save the day before going down this route though. Fingers crossed.

Hi CHIMV8,

Firstly please accept my apologies for the very late response, life has once again taken its toll on me recently...

I will PM you to sort all this out. Sorry once again mate.

All after Snoopy getting back in touch after a week, and saying he will dispatch the goods,he has gone awalll again
I hate to go down this route but until he resolves my sale, which my payment has been confirmed as sent to him by my bank do not buy from this guy
I feel there are some personal issues going on with him,but end if the the day I am out of pocket

Really sorry to hear this. Best thing would be to ask him to spend the 30 seconds required to send your money back to you, I feel. This is not good form.

Setting up a courier to collect the item is very quick and easy.

Parcel2go and parcelmonkey both sell cheap door to door courier services. Take the 15 mins and book the delivery instead of messing the buyer around

Hi
At moment the issue is Scooby is telling me the money is not in his account

My Bank have issued me with the very long transfer reference number, which tells you his bank and mine agree that money has moved

I have asked for confirmation that he has given me the correct account and sort code details, which for some reason he won’t confirm

What do I do,he’s giving me verbal comments that the money doesn’t exist and I’m giving him Bank confirmation

Why has he changed his tune? At first it was a personal reason, now the money has not arrived.
Why has he taken so long to tell you the money has not reached him? He should have mentioned this straight away.

Do you have his address as you could go to the small claims court. I thinks it's £25 for a small claims court online.

I appreciate this is too late, but I always send £1 first as a test when sending money by BT faster payment... recipient can confirm almost immediately if received. Problem with this type of payment is getting it back if it goes to the wrong account. It’s easy to transpose 2 numbers and chances are it will still be a valid account number.

It doesn’t sound to me like this is the case here though, as the guy seems to be changing his position.

Hope it works out for you OP

The guys a con man...short and sweet. Get in touch with your bank and request a charge back from his account.

Should have suspected something really, from a bloke with a sawn off 'shotgun'.

Hope it gets sorted.
