When I got the car (>4 years ago) one side of the stowage compartment lid was broken, the other side has been taking the strain and last night that too went. it will close but wont align fully.

Is this part replaceable? and what are the options?

Im looking to sell the carnin the very near future so wonder if 1) its worth it cost wise 2) if its a deal breaker if I leave it?

Get the part from dealers or breakers depending on price quoted

I wouldn't buy a car with a broken panel unless i knocked £250+ off the price for time, costs and effort to fix.
You could leave it and accept it as part of the discounting.

To me though it's indicative of poor care if left broken and I'd be looking for more to haggle down or walk away.

It is so easy to replace as well, so I would definitely replace it before the sale. Is the chubby light on all the time now as well as the switch won't be pressed down?

If you do decide to fix it let me know how you get on - one of my hinges is cracked so its only a matter of time before it gives up.

Not sure PVR. If the hinge mounts are broken that would be new trim and could entail a fair bit of dismantling. Can't recall how much.
Would also be a faff to get the broken bits out the cover, but all doable

Looking at it yesterday closely with a head torch and some time, I realised the right side had not broken as I thought (the left side looking face on was broken when I got it) the clip had merely become detached from the housing it sits in) a bit of fiddling and it's relocated so whilst it's still damaged it's fully working again now.
The piece on the left that's broken is the pass through rod that has the clips on either end.

Not sure if this is available separately or not?
