For those fitting the gear knob, you have to push it down quite hard prior to tightening the nut so it gets it under the ridge (first time I did not do that and it would come off).

Paul - is that the same for the handbrake?

Btw does anybody need a hardtop? I've talked to BMW and they're offering brand new hardtops for 1500. Need 5 for the go ahead. Will post more info tomorrow. Sorry for the threadjack!
