Store, Sell, Return to stock?

So it seems likely the zed will soon be moving on at least as a 2nd car
Four choices are emerging
Take it to Spain and keep it out there. Some advantages, but issues over residency, testing, importing, etc.
Store it, but they it just ages and dies over time
Sell it - seems sadly the best option either as-is or stripped

Do I therefore advertise as-is with all it's kit or in effect revert to closer to stock?
Bits I could readily swap back to stock and sell (with exchange*) are:
///M bumper, brackets, fittings, ducts, etc. £400*
Clear AE/DRL oem xenons £400*
Aero sideskirts £250*
Alutec 3 part strut brace £150
Cup holders £50*
Cruise control £30*
Quad white spot rear lights £100*
Red leather heated memory sports seats and door cards £400*
///M MFSW with paddles, audio control, etc. slip ring and auto wiring harness £150
Reinhold one touch roof module and remote open module £50
Skinny spare £30
Motobility kit £30

Possible
Quad system, battery box, etc.
Rear bumper and diffuser* £400 or too much effort

So is it worth it? Time and effort
I could ask say £5-£6k for the car as it stands, or sell all the parts for circa £2k and get £4k for the car
Hardtop is a separate item and sell next Autumn for £700-£800 or let the buyer have it at a low price

Would love to see it kept as the car I created after 10 years of development, but interested in thoughts and early interest in items

To be clear I'm not selling anything in this thread nor offering at any price, just getting ideas on an unusual Zed, but once a decision is made will open a sale thread with prices

Shame to sell after evolving the car over many years, but agree that no use storage just leads to gradual deterioration.
I think the most sensible thing is to sell & keep emotion out of it :|

That is cracking and unique car and would be a shame to see it pulled apart! Its got me thinking .....

You're underselling the aeros even with PX for basic cills :D
You know the answer already , more cash selling off the goodies but way more hassle & effort
I would pick a figure that would make you happy & try for it , then if you don't get a sniff start sluicing off the big parts whilst lowering the ask price accordingly & eventually you will meet yourself at the point you want to be at
A great looking bespoke Z that i noticed at Zedfest last year then only a few months later realised it was yours

£250 for aero skirts, you'll get your arm snapped off at that price.

Guess the buyer need sterling silver car though.

Definitely a shame to split it.

What about taking it to Spain but not registering it there, and keeping it on UK plates?

Have you got Xenons ? With the switch on the back to flick between left traffic and right traffic ?
If yes, import to Spain should not be too hard. I brought my E46 back from Holland and found it quite easy to register it here, have also helped a friend register a UK Volvo in Germany. Driving a car with the steering on the wrong side doesn't bother me, I switch between LHD and RHD on a daily basis and seem to cope.

I say split and I'll take the seats off you straight away!

Seriously though, is the splitting worth the hassle?

I would give it a go as is. Price it right and someone will get a stunning zed. Good Luck which ever way you go.

The way your car looks is how i'd love to get mine sterling grey one to eventually.
M bumpers, aeros, xenons, red sport seats, m steering wheel, cruise control, quad exhaust.
I imagine you'd get your arm snapped off selling it as a whole, but i guess you'd miss it a lot once it's gone. Spain sounds a good option if you'll use it there enough.

Bikes may be different to cars, I always put my bikes back to as near stock as possible got more for the bike and sell all the add ons separately.
Keep the car in Spain

OK guys - thanks for some really interesting ideas and thoughts.
On the Spain idea it's a little problematic that if you have to bring it out the country every 6 months, else it's an offence. On South coast they look for Brits doing this. Would also need to be in the UK to MoT. Aside it's nice to have and with my own garage could store it easily there, but it would have to be imported, locally taxed, tested, etc. Probably too much pita on reflection.
RHD doesn't worry me- I have a LHD in the UK and have spent half my life nt he wrong side of the car/road

So looks like sell as-is and see what happens. If doesn't move then start pulling bits off and lowering the price. No rush and Springs approaching

Can't show at MMC as I'll be in Spain

Expect an ad on here sometime then :)

Phil genuinely gutted to see you selling- one of the first forum members I met nearly 10 years ago! Always loved watching your car evolve- not always to my taste, but a beautiful individual car that is testament to the time and effort. Is there no way you can keep it for the sake of 5-6k?

The money isn't that significant in the big picture. It's more storing, will I use it?, then taxing, testing, insuring MOT, service, etc. I already have 4 cars so this would make 5 and I'd get my ear bent by Mrs CJ
