Storage nets

Has anyone fitted the nets that sit either side of the transmission tunnel and if so is it done without problems? :!:

I've got a net here to fit along with cup-holders. Just not got around to it yet as the weather is awful and I don't want to be covered in crap when I do it.

Did the nets come with all the fittings and any info on how it's achieved?

It came as 1 net with three hard edges and one elasticated edge, 4 'fixings' that look like they screw into the transmission tunnel with slots on these fixings to clip the hard edges of the net into.

It's sunny (though not warm) today, so I'll wash the car (again) and have a go.

Cheers mate, looks easy enough. Looks like the same sort of fixings for floor matts. I take it that where they are fitted is entirely up to yourself! Sent us a pick if poss when you've managed to complete the job.

I've got the net, and it's nice to have - but you can't really get to it when driving. I use it to put a bottle of water in, and have to wait to stop.

I'm not planning on using it when driving, but it'll be another cubby-hole for something small that I don't want tossing around the cabin.

I've also got to see whether the seat back netting is the same for the sport seats on the M as for the standard seats - then I'll have a bit of space for maps & maybe the BMW wallets with operating instructions & service history documents.

The pics are a massive help and will come in handy when I get round to buying them. How much did you pay for them by the way? With regards to the comments on not being able to use them whilst driving because of their position, true I expect, but I need some where to hold my i-pod instead of craming it in between the passengers seat and as we all know stowage space on the Z4 is a premium!

Parcel net (51.47.7.114.523) was £11.15, screws (51.47.2.263.062) were £0.26 each - all plus VAT, for a total of about £14.

My coupe has one fitted on the passenger side. Came that way and you look like you have yours in just about the same place as the factory put it. Good job.

Thread revival! I found this old thread that helped me in fitting mine. Thanks anyone still around. Sadly prices have increased a little since 2008!
