Storage box center - push latch broken

I have searched this forum and I have found one thread. I have pm'd the guy for his fix a few months ago and he has not responded.

So I am starting a new thread.

Does anyone have any advice or a DIY for replacing the button? Mine snapped and broke off.

I have got exactly the same problem. My Z is a coupe and is slightly different to the Roadster in reapect of how to remove the sourounding trim etc to remove and replace the latch. There are threads on here and pictures which will help you. Srhutch also has pics and more details. As for me fixing the problem, not got around to it yet.

I beg to differ. I have done searching on many keywords and combinations of keywords and have come up empty.

Mine broke last week. I found this link explaining how to remove the storage cover. Once removed I was able to super-glue the latch back on.

Super-glued back together (could not find the missing plastic piece):

You mean the little plastic bit on the door that engages the beveled "push button" latch mechanism above the door? You can try super gluing the broken bits back together, or fabricating something that functions the same and gluing it in place. It's essentially just a rectangular hole that the latch pushes into. Otherwise, you'll have to get a new door.
