Stoplock pro

I bought one of these for my Coupe. Sadly, because of the thickness of the steering wheel it won’t fit correctly ie attaching to the wheel and through it too.
I can attach it to the wheel but no way does it go through.
What do you do for visible car security?

Lock it in my garage?

Couldn't resist..

Slightly more helpfully l'd use a disklok OP. Not the cheapest, but highly visible and will put off most from trying.

Is it the 90s

Don't think I could be bothered with the faff, if someone want's the car that much they can have it. Good excuse to buy something else :driving:

Zeds are entering classic car status now! 8) Much prefer the e85 / e86 to newer e89’s. But that’s just me. With whatever insurance pays then you’d never get a car the same spec and condition without having to shell out more ££

I have one that I'm happy to sell :) It's a "small" which is the correct size for the Zed, I think I still have the "sock" for covering the wheel underneath it.. Used it when I had to park the Stag outside.

I can’t believe the context of trivial answers here..........
Not sure where you are but car theft is a massive business......but if you don’t care to try and protect the things we get great enjoyment from owning that’s up to you.
I also have a VW California which is of much greater value than the z4. I read daily of these being stolen.
Perhaps it’s me getting over concerned?

We do like to have a bit of a joke here :)

Seriously though, if someone wants your car, a stoplock isn't going to slow them down for more than a few seconds, and sorry to say [ref]Marlon[/ref] that if it's fitted like that, it makes it WAY easier for them to snap the steering lock and then remove the stoplock itself.

Because of the car's inherent security, it is fairly difficult and time consuming to get one started without a key, but it's possible and I have done it in about 15 mins for someone who lost their keys - E46, but exactly the same systems.

In all honesty, if you want to go down the route of a physical device, then the Disclok takes some beating, as it fully encloses the wheel and spins freely on it.

Right - well I will forget it then :(
I'm worried that the insurance value of my P & J will never cover the uniqueness of the Zed. Realistically, what will I get if its written off or stolen?
What chance have I got of replacing a bright red 3.0si 2008 E85 using the payout. No chance basically. So I want to protect it from theft - the stoplock looked like a good visible deterrent.
The disklock is a heavy cumbersome device that you'd have to keep in the boot - bearing in mind mine is a DD I can't be phaffing about with one of those - the stoplock does at least store behind the passenger seat.

There's more pain - I updated my post :(
Seriously considering ditching the stoplock pro though if it's a waste of time

Obviously anything can happen at anytime but zed theft is very very rare. Someone posted the stats on this a year or so back. I remember thinking after reading it that i certainly would won't to own an x6. Alot of them were vanishing. Seems the thieving scum arent particularly taken with our "hairdressers cars" not cool enough which is fine with me.
