So, inevitably the roof motor gives up playing nicely, arrangements made to get this and other things done.... that can happen I wake up to this. WTF !!
Looking for culprit and call in on lovely neighbour who has cctv.....we are at the end of a no through road and all he can see is a couple of crows/ rooks flying about / landing etc. Can't quite believe it but seems they are known to try and break walnuts / snails shells by dropping them from a hight. My luck didn't stop there when I was told my insurance had lapsed....hope you are all having a better day !!

Oh you poor sod! :headbang: Yes I have also seen vids of them dropping them in front of moving cars so they run over them. That really is not good for you as I believe the window can't be replaced. Perhaps someone on here can help find a used one.

Cheers MikeyH. Spot on re the chances of just replacing the glass...can't be done, so needs a whole replacement hood. Ouch!!

I had to replace house windows as they were being attacked by crows. They see their reflection and attack.

It only stopped when I shot one of them and left it on the lawn for a bit. I have to do that once a season.

Really!?
Learning so much about about crows, can't believe this :o
Do you have a soft top in good order that you don't need??

Stuart [ref]bigwinn[/ref], do you still have a roof for sale, plus the knowledge to help this chap out.
He's asked me but I've never taken one off so whilst I'm game for trying anything, it seemed wiser to ask you first.

Sorry lads the roof went!

Would certainly help out with a change if needed!
Ah damn!
Well at least you know how it comes off, which is one step on from me.
Paul, if you're in Hertfordshire then Stuart is as close to you as I am really.
Could be a logistical challenge getting the car and roof to either of us, but as I said, happy to help if I can, so if you want to do it here that's fine with me, but Stuart would have to come over too to assist maybe.
First step, find a roof, then work it out from there.

Ouch!

Contact a guy named Darren Weston on FB 👍

He posted on FB within the past 48 hours a company who do replacement glass 👍

Thanks Stuart, I have seen a decent one on ebay for 300 plus 50 delivery (in brum) so could move on that if I knew where to get it sent. Norfolk and Lincolnshire both a drive but happy to do either really

If it makes your mind up and you're in a rush, I'm off on my hols next week so couldn't help much for a while yet. Sorry.

Just to keep in mind that when omhad mine replaced many years ago, it was £600 for a new one. Not sure you can still get them though.

I’ve heard that the same trick works with neighbourhood chavs

Shoot a crow and stake it out on the grass. Do the same with a local ned / chav just to cover the bases.

Thanks for your help on this Martin.

Someone on here has definately had the rear window replaced recently ..100% it can be done..edit, maybe not, thinking on it might have been a hardtop roof

Try reaching out to Jack Smith in Swansea, if anyone can replace it he can
