Stone Chip!!

So there I was merrily driving to work this morning. Gave the Zed its legs a bit as the traffic was nice and was thinking what a cracking car this is when *whack*, lorry flips up a stone the size of a small meteor and impacts with the windscreen.

Annoyingly though, it seems to be neither a chip nor a crack. More like a large scratch >.<

Is this worth getting the windscreen cover involved?

Normally chips are covered for free (or a small excess £25) without affecting your NCB.

Worth a call I'd say.

I doubt it. Their stuff fills holes, not scrapes. You might be better of with a glass polishing kit but that might not touch a scratch like that. You may have to live with it.

If it's in front of the driver's line of sight, may be an MOT failure. But it may be repairable if you don't leave it too long.

It doesn't look like a crack from the photo, but bear in mind that in cold weather cracks can quickly grow!

Maybe try some polish or something to see if any of it will rub out. Just maybe the stone just left residue?
If this don't work, don't use a hammer, a bigger stone would be better..

U could always hit it in the same spot again but harder to make it a crack then you can fill it haha

get onto the insurance and get autoglas or who ever it is they use before it cracks. they can repair most stuff like this.
