Stone chip

Hit by a stray stone on M6 today - small chip bottom left of windscreen, options...

1) ignore it
2) get it filled with that crappy resin
3) get the screen replaced (but aware of this topic Autoglass/botched repairs/auto wipers etc)

Any advice greatly appreciated

There is a criteria to which can be filled by that crappy resin....

no bigger then £2 coin (but imo if its that big i would replace!)
more then 6cm from any edge
not within drivers line of sight, so 30 cm wide around steering position... from top to bottom.

if its very small imo i would just get it filled.. and get on with life!

Get it filled before you next drive it so it doesn't get dirt in. That should be nearly free via insurance. If it doesn't look good enough get the whole screen replaced in the spring.

Get it filled. If you don't, next time you hit a pothole you'll have a lovely spider-web effect all over your windscreen
