i like the thought of being able to get at the money so pensions are out

do ISA's have the best rate of interest?

New pension rules coming into force in April mean you can withdraw as much as you like from your pension, any time.

That is form a certain age though?

Yep, age 55 is when you can start withdrawing from a personal pension

I'm at an age where spending is more of a priority than saving!

My old man always said to me save as much money as you can and he passed away before retirement so never enjoyed it. That saying always comes back to me and partly why I've cashed in. I think passing 50 last month and losing my mum just before Christmas has made me think about my own mortality alot more and the you can't take it with you so enjoy it while you can.

Tim.

I've got to the age where I know why I was more prudent in my earlier days.
No pockets in your last shirt I'm afraid.
I recently lost a pal I'd had for 50 plus years and he was one of the make do and mend brigade. He wouldn't hear of new boys toys and cars. I used to say "get it spent" Too late for him now!

I'm getting that new car feeling again.
