Stirlingshire Meet/Drive - 6th Sept 2020

Just to say, I hope you all have a great run out tomorrow. :driving:

I’d hoped this would be my first forum run, followed by next weeks, but something’s been lurking in the background that could’ve stopped me going and it has to both.

Hopefully the following Scottish one after these will be my first

AlienZed...the Yellow Peril is ā€˜in the groove’....the new re-map/de-cat/plethora of handling tweaks makes it most satisfactory :driving:

Came over to Kincardine via the back roads through Selkirk, St Mary’s Loch, Falla Reservoir etc..she’s flying..

I’m not sure we’ll be exploring the outer limits today but it’s great to be out with a few Zeds after 7 months...

First pic of the day for you..not very exciting but I’m sure there will be more / better later on

Not many more from me..roads were fairly busy which is not surprising on a lovely day close to the Central Belt..managed to lose most of the cars most of the time with slow moving traffic and 15 cars..but I think everybody enjoyed themselves..thanks to Richie for organising everything

Shame the roads were busy, but it looks like you had a good turn out and decent weather.

The Yellow Peril certainly stands out - in a good way.

A good turn out with some lovely looking zeds on parade there  . Shame I couldn't make this run as the weather looked great, unfortunately I had prior commitments which I couldn't get out off.

Thanks Rich for organising this, great wee day out. Nice people and nice Zed's and for once it wasn't raining! great spot for lunch also. A thanks to Peter also for making sure we all got there and no-one got left behind

Looks like a decent mix of cars, and a good day.
Liking the Jag f type in the pics.

Weather even played ball :driving:

I went to do some work instead, then took my son for a Drive in the z, seeing as the op was a ****,and barred me

Would have been nice to meet some of you

Huge thanks to everyone who came along yesterday, many more than I expected when this run was quickly arranged 2 weeks ago when we got the news the Performance Car Show had been postponed again! It was a challenge to get everything organised and communicated in a short time due to work commitments but I think we just about got there :D
Massive thanks to Pbondar for acting as back marker once again, possibly the biggest challenge yet herding up some of the strays but hopefully it added to the adventure! 8) :driving:
Also big thanks to the Corbie Inn that accommodated 20+ of us for lunch and getting in extra staff in at short notice, excellent meal.
Some great photos above and many more on the Facebook pages, huge thanks to Jim for acting as official photographer, some outstanding photography!
It was great to have the weather on our side but think I should have worn my hat as my forehead now looks like I've slept next to a fire all night!
Thanks again folks, really enjoyed the day and the company!

Ah yes the distinctive colour is a bit of a two edged sword..

When you are the leader / upfront trying to work out if the group is still with you, especially peering through your mirrors at a sea of grey/blue/black cars is hard work..so a nice bright tail marker works very well..

It does mean that if I’m not leading a run I tend to ā€˜draw the short straw’...

Sometimes it can be profoundly frustrating as you watch , usually a newbie, with two or three hundred horses, further up the line unable to overtake a horsebox moving at 38mph on an open derestricted road..but heh, the runs are for everyone..irrespective of skill/car/appetite for ā€˜hooning’ :headbang:

I’m fortunate living in a part of the world where ā€˜hooning’ is almost always possible..so my role as tail end Charlie is one I quite like..it does give you a good chance to observe others driving habits and skills.. :driving:  :tumbleweed:
