hi Guys
I'm the proud owner of a z4si sport auto convertible 07 model and something that has been puzzling me since I got it is what the heck is this used for >>>

I'm referring to the small fold down lid/pocket which is on the left hand side of the utility storage bay which drops down and is situated between the seats
you know the one it has the phone holder in the middle the penholder on one side and this fold down flap area on the other ,is it used for coins
or glasses or what ?..I've tried glasses actually and their too big ,coins just roll about!!! geee does anyone know ,I bet I don't get a confirmed explanation
and we end up just guessing on this one ..anyway any help would be much appreciated as it has puzzled me for quite a while now .

What does the UK call that telescoping pole that police use to beat children and dogs?
(I think us US folk call it a blackjack?)

Lets see, you said no mobile, no glasses....hmmm OH!
Cigar (thinking humidor)! Cause when you stop after a nice drive it's important to sit, smoke, contemplate and enjoy the sunset overlooking your car.

Uhm possible remote for stereo?

(kidding/joking from this point on)
I'll play these silly games....what is it for?

That's a cell phone base plate cradle without the model-specific snap-in adapter. See the little button at the bottom, with an icon of a person speaking? With the adapter in place, there's another button pointing towards it. I've always used Bluetooth for my phone, but if you want to charge your phone you get the cradle option for your specific model. Looks like the previous owner kept the adapter

The item that he labeled with the red dot? I'll agree the center piece is the cell phone cradle.... :scratchhead:

Is this not a repost? It's a "female pack" option for keeping an emergency tampon. A bit like the smokers pack only not as PC.

It's for when you go to Blackpool and need to get your stick of rock back safely.

I prefer this option! i always snap my rock on the way home!!!

you have a pen holder, it could be for one of those massive pencils you can get so you can use it if you ever get caught speeding and have to sign something

hi guys ,with reference to the photo it does show the bluetooth phone holder and adaptor in place not missing as was stated ,its the small holder on the side of the unit that I haven't got a clue as to what its used for and to be honest NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW as all I get are parttime comedians and not a sensible answer ..... :? any help would be appreciated as its doing my nut in cheers ...

I guess you are getting these answers because nobody knows what it is, simple as that, if it doenst say in the book then I guess it's just an oddments storage box, hardly worth worrying about IMO just a bit of valuable storage if you can find something that will fit.

Agreed. i think it is just general storage. it has probably come about from a bit of spare space during the design of the rest of it and its better used to put something (still i think a giant pencil :D ) in it as opposed to just blanking it off with plastic.

Truncheon in the UK. Isn't it Nightstick in the US? Oh, and the police over here don't beat children and dogs, just women and newspaper vendors.

I reckon they (BMW) just ended up with a weird shape space after fitting the mobile holder and just stuck a lid on it hoping someone would find it useful. Didn't someone else say they keep business cards in it?

Looked up here and had a look at the owners manual here

http://www.bmwsections.com/docs/#bmz

and in the 2007 manual page 71 it tells you that it is one of the "other compartments"..... I hope that clears it up for you :P

 Not liking the 'alternative' humour..... seems popular to diss the Police nowadays, despite this people still seem to call in for help about seventy thousand times an hour....Odd.

As muppet has posted in the manual it refers to it just as a storage compartment, nothing more, nothing less, not desgined for anything specific.

Heh, I actually do like the police and think they should be given more power to stop criminals. I don't want them to be Judge Dredd powerful, but right up until that point I'm fine with.
That said it is fun to :poke: at em.

And of course, like in any walk of life, you get both good ones and bad ones.

Luckily I've only ever been stopped by good ones (well they are when they let me off speeding of course)

I'm terribly sorry that I offended your delicate sense of humour. I was actually correcting Aebous' wild accusations about beating children with the truth. I suggest you avoid most of the rest of the internet if that gets the  It's almost all 'alternative'
