Cool Z4

My 2007 Z4 3.0i Steptronic. I had the trans oil changed at 100K. After that, the car seems to get hot especially in warm weather, 85 deg plus. It also gets hot during spirited driving. By hot, I mean the temp needle moves away from the middle and sometimes approaches the red zone. Have never got to the red zone before I am blasting the heater. I have seen posts before and had the Elec water pump and the thermostat changed. My indy guy says its not the fan because it does come on. So, any thoughts or ideas out there?

Has to be water not circulating round the system properly, take it it's topped up to the max.?

Radiator clean and clear.?

Correct thermostat and pump.?

Has the cooling system been bled properly?

Theres a small plastic screw at the top next to the expansion tank (you need to take the black cover off). Loosen the screw then pump the pipe until all air bubbles have been released.

This is the only reason why mine overheated after changing the expansion tank.

Hi,
There's a bleed procedure for the si engines, have a search on the forum ( Sure I found it on here). It runs the pump at varying speed while opening the thermostat, it's an easy DIY and bleeds the system properly in a matter of minutes.
