Two hour drive this morning and problem seems to have been solved, used a old paint brush to slap on a thick coat of waxoil on the steering uv joint with a quick run to get it warmed up and soaked in. Difference is like going from the sport button on to off, thanks
I have managed to 'liberally' drench the top UJ with white lithium spray grease and will give it a quick drive to see how it goes. Does anyone have any idea how to lubricate the one down the side of the engine block, its hard enough to see let alone apply grease
Will find out tommorrow night if BMW will fix mine as a good will as its two months out of warranty and the part is £1500 plus fitting.
My mate is a tech there and is going to speak to his boss on my behalf.
Went for a run today and as said it is heat related only happens after around an hours driving with the heater on but is awful and dangerous on the motorway.
Mine was fine for a year but after the car sat on the drive for a month while i was away this has started.
