Sticky steering even when cold!!

So, I recently tightened my worm gear adjustment and now I seem to have constant sticky steering even when getting into my car at low temps. I’ve not seen anywhere about people over tightening them and I would say compared to others adjustments mine is still fairly conservative! Also does it affect the adjustment dependant on how tight I do the bolts. My car does even self centre anymore. I’m obviously going to loosen it just wanted to know if anyone else had had this issue

What exactly did you tighten and where was it

It’s the ring on the steering rack with the male torx bolts to loosen the ring and then knock it round

Ive tried quite a few different amounts of turn of the adjustment ring. Max I’ve moved mine is c10mm and this was too much IMO - steering became quite unresponsive and when it did get kicked slightly off centre by a bump in the road, it didn’t want to move back easily - not good on bumpy country lanes!

I’ve settled on around 5-6mm movement (tighter) from factory. This seems the best compromise to me

Set it back to we're it was originally and slacken between 5-10 mm.Tightening as you have done will give sticky steering.
