Out for a blast this afternoon and thought as i've recently "blacked" my grill, I'd take a couple of shots with my phone.

I think I prefer the grill in black and will probably keep it that way.

Black grille works in conjunction with black lights as Gaza62 commented, but I don't think it looks right with silver lights
 
The inner part of it. The 3.0 and above came with silver others black inserts.

Take a look at this shot of yesterday with 2 Sterling grey side by side. One with silver and one balck inserts and as it happens co-ordinated grilles:

Huge difference.

Pic is horrible (there are much better by the pros on the meeting thread), but I sifted through to find one out of the line up with the contrasting 2 Sterling Grey side by side.

This is a better pic to show the effect of silver lights with OEM grey grille, and non amber indicators. IMHO a much cleaner look, but equally it's all to do with the basic paint colour what looks best.
