help popped out in zed roof down music on out the car back in and ,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,.,., no sound coming from stereo all lights are on all looks ok but no sound anyone got any ideas :x
 
Mine does that occasionally, god knows why but it does come back on eventually.

just out again radio on but wont turn up pulled over turned off turned back on and you guessed it no sound :? :x
 
Probably the radio went into self-protection (it does that for example after a short circuit). it resets itself after a period of time. have this happened to my own radio when i was installing new speakers.
 
The radio is cutting out intermittently due what is called edsherinitis this happens after over exposure to certain artists occurs and even the radio needs a f"""ing rest from it :thumbsup:
 
still having this same problem does anyone have any fixes for this other than not playing edd sherin really at my wits end sure others have had these issues how did you sort it HELP :headbang:
 
Check if you have an amp in the battery compartment (boot) and if there's traces of moisture ingress.
 
What you can then do is pray....
But first look for any moisture.
Do you know what factory stereo system you have?
 
Are you able to scan the car for fault codes? If not, most places only charge around £40 for this and its often a good starting point especially for an intermittent problem like this. Try and find a BMW specialist to do it though. I have the same system and found an amplifier bolted to the bulkhead behind the drivers seat.

My CD player quits if I've got the heater on and it gets too hot. I let it cool down a bit and it works again. Lately it's been cutting out for a split second here and there. Thought it was the CD jumping but played it again and it wasn't. I guess after 13 years it's probably gonna be one of the first thing to start going wrong. If it stops for good I'll pop a second hand one from the breakers.
 
Just checked amp by the battery there is no sign of water ingress it is bone dry think i Will check fuses if no joy there then think fault codes may be the way too go do any LP's near me have a code reader if so would really appreciate some help please :)
