If u look up my older post that will explain : ) so the original unit is naffed it's been tested ect and it's dead .
I've looked on eBay for a replacement and for the one that controls the sat nav is £250 to £300 so iam going aftermarket.
I don't see the point in spending that sort of money on a original that is second hand and might not last long as 11 years seems about right for head units life cycle.
Iam not bothered about not being able to use the sat nav as I've never used it as it's a bit prehistoric user wise compared to my tom tom. So iam getting a pioneer USB ect non cd that comes with the Z4 fascia surround ISO wire block aerial adaptor and all for under £100 but if anybody's got a cheap original I'll buy it off them and put it away for when that day comes to sell the z4.
