Stereo Problems

In the last few days , I have no sound from my rears and the front right works only when it feels like it, I think it must be the head unit :( , although I have BMW warranty, i have two external power amps, upgraded speakers and a dension ipod, so unless I take all that lot out, there is no way they are going to entertain a warranty claim on the head unit,

i will do some further investigations this weekend just in case it is something else, so I may be in the market for a head unit, it is the business one with sat nav etc, so if anyone has one around they are looking to sell?

Hi.
If one of the amps is in the factory location (under the boot/trunk floor in the battery box) then check it quick for water. All leaks seem to end up here and flood the battery and amp. My dealer asked if my driveway had a slope on it so I suspect they know there is an issue if you park nose up.
Cheers
Martin

A SatNav Business head unit will be hard to come by, although it would be worth trying through this site

I have had success with them, other than that ebay, or other breakers

Just an update, had a good look at the system at the week end, checked all the fittings, seemed fine, but did the usual of unplug, replug etc, and it all works fine :? , but thanks for the advice

Next time, try to unplug the battery only ... perhaps a system reset was all that was required.

Thanks for that PVR  , I think you are right, next time I will try that first unless it was just a loose connection, the only thing perhaps I did not make clear, is my external power amps are not OEM
