stepping up to a 3.0L

I'm just coming up to 6 months of ownership on my 2.0 e85. I absolutely love driving it and how it looks but the one thing that slightly niggles me is that it does seem to lack a bit of acceleration. I dont think there is anything wrong with it, its just what it is so now im thinking 3.0. Obviously there is going to be a bit of a jump in cost and as im not mechanically i wouldnt really want a high mileage model. Ive seen this one on autotrader, any thoughts or advice?

You could get a facelift si model for that amount of money, I’d also avoid one fitted with 20’ wheels :?

Agree with bear,,thats poverty spec at top dollar..you can do way better with less cash spent with a little patience

I was 6 months into ownership of my m sport 2 ltr loving it but missing the acceleration I enjoyed in my A4 s-line when I traded it in for my 3.0si
You will notice a big difference 150 bhp to 264 in the si  :driving:

Thanks for the input guys, gonna sit tight for now, ive always been reluctant to trade in a car that so far hasn't given me any problems (touch wood). I have spoken to Ducklakeview and hes going to do a roof motor relocation in the new year for me, might even go for a CDV delete i think its called. The whippy is going nowhere though!

... or maybe bite the bullet & get a M. Most who’ve ever had an E85/6 seem to eventually end up with one.

Feel the roadster is about as cheap as it is ever going to get, where the extra 190 ponies will deffo provide what you’re looking for in acceleration.

As always... Forum helping you to spend money

I don’t need any help spending money on the z😳
As soon as I do one thing, I have the next thing lined up in my head.
It’s the fun of owning a Z4 😀

Just curious as to what a sensible price would be for that one the OP linked to?

Depends on the service history, but looking at autotrader I wouldn't want to spend more than 5k on it
You'd need new wheels and tyres immediately too

So I've been looking through eBay, autotrader, gumtree and cars for sale on here etc. It seems prices vary so much, could anyone give me some idea of what kind of price I could get for my current z as this affects what I can spend. 57 plate 2.0i, in sapphire black, beige Oregon interior, heated seats, just short of 55,000 miles, 6 previous owners, paintwork in good condition, wheels showing a few grazes could do with a refurb, 7 service stamps in the book. See picture from vin decoder below for extras. I'll be looking for a 2.5 or 3.0 with heated seats (preferably not red) below 100k, facelift if budget allows.

For what it's worth my sister tried to sell her 2.0 58plate msport with 77k miles for 4grand and didn't get a bite. Glwts
