Steering wheel

Bought myself a used steering wheel off ebay so i can send it off to get retrimmed by royals without having to dick about removing my current one in the meantime

quick question, what are the wires in this image for


as the one i've bought doesn't have them,

is it just for the multifunction stuff or?

ah right it's not coming with the airbag, so i'm guessing it'll be a case of using the one from my current setup then?

i'm assuming where it looks like broken bits of plastic is the slip ring? (if i've got my googling right)

They are indeed the airbag connectors. The top 2 go into the airbag and the one on the other end of the loom into the slip ring. The red wire is the horn circuit. You can see it sheathed in black and it connects just above the white sticker at 5 o'clock

In essence you fit the wheel onto the column and plug in to it then offer up the airbag and connect that, then clip the airbag in place.

Correct, really connects airbag to slipring and doesn't connect to the wheel at all.

Only wheel connection is the horn and you more looms if you have the MFSW option

f**k me, ebay seller i bought a steering wheel off was already charging me £15 delivery has came back saying it's
"£42 to ship outside of mainland uk"

is it still attached to the fecking car...

sent a reply so i sense it'll just get cancelled

Northern Ireland is just royal mail you realise,(some lads don't when they see Ireland no offence, i've had this a few times)

Seller redeemed themselves, said it was paisley freight and he'll happily lob it via the post office tomorrow instead

I got caught out on this. Had a camera bag up for sale with free postage which was going to cost me under £4 with a courier. Guy in ireland bought is so courier costs went through the roof. In the end I sent it Royal Mail, but still cost me more.

Always put "Postage to UK mainland" in my adds now to cover myself.

Well Republicof Ireland isn't Royal Mail but Northern is which will cost you the exact same as anywhere else in the uk so you're just excluding N.Ireland really for no real reason with "mainland" only .
Royal mail shouldn't be massively more expensive for the south either tbh.

pet hate for me this, between that and having to explain why my money sometimes has "bank of ireland" on it along with sterling, and that the south use the Euro.
