Steering wheel wobble

I was driving down to Salisbury in the start of the week and I noticed I'm getting a lot of feedback through my steering wheel. The wheel would wobble/shake which seems to happen only when I take my foot off the accelerator. As soon I put my foot down again the wobble disappears.
Anyone have any idea? Something simple like alignment perhaps or something more serious?

Possibly a suspension bush somewhere?
When you lift your foot off, the weight transfers forward, so is either putting more pressure on a front component, or taking it off a rear one, allowing that to move a little?
Does it do it when cornering too? That may help narrow it down a little.
But I'm not discounting something else, such as a balance weight come off, or a bulge in a tyre etc., although I'd expect these to be more persistent regardless of throttle application.

I haven't noticed it when cornering primarily because I have a much firmer grip when going around corners so don't notice any feedback.
If it's not normal for a Z4 to do this then it's definitely something I need to get checked out.
A weight might make sense actually but like you said I should notice that pretty much all the time.

Is it wobbling or is it pulling / tram lining? Zeds certainly do the later though they do it when applying throttle as much as when lifting off. I would definitely check your tyres and wheels first, as it's simple and cheap to do. Something as simple as mud stuck on the inside off the rim can cause a wobble. I'd agree with enuff_Zed though, it does sound like it could be worn bushes.

I check my wheels and tyres weekly so I would have noticed something.
It's wobbling. There doesn't seem to be any pulling to one side. I don't actually feel as if the car itself is wobbling, just the steering wheel.
I might need to get it booked in to a garage so.. Again..
