Steering Wheel Volume buttons

Hi

Picked up my new 59 plate e89 this week.... love it

I have noticed that the volume up and down buttons dont appear to work??
All other buttons on wheel seems to work, they illuminate and the horn works fine

Any ideas what could cause this and how big a job to fix?

hi, welcome to the forum

you probably need to take the wheel apart to see what's going on

the only tricky part is removing the airbag, otherwise just screws, on youtube you'll find videos for z4

Here is the video I watched to remove the airbag, just remember to disconnect the negative from the battery for about 30 minutes, and don't close the boot lid!!! The only tool needed to remove the airbag is a small screwdriver, I was surprised how quick it came off (about 40 seconds): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgnPs4RMUJk
