Decided to have a go refurbishing the steering wheel trims. Using my tools/paints I have for building model cars.
I only have one photo from before I started, but they were all similar to this piece:

Sanded all the parts down with 240 grit sanding pad. This took the most time:

Sprayed with black primer, and then sanded with wet/dry 4000:

Sprayed with Tamiya TS-17 Gloss Aluminium. Sprayed using an airbrush:

Finally finished with a 2k clear, which isn't something I normally use for models, but wanted a tough finish as possible so hopefully it doesn't scratch too easily:

They are probably a little more glossy than standard, but didn't want to try sanding back and polishing and risk loosing the shine. The colour is close enough to the gear knob and door handles for me. Looks a lot better than before
