On a warm day after a few hours of driving my steering wheel started to squeak. Anyone else ever had this?

I always use duct tape for all repairs....adds that elegant look..and really draws the babes :driving:

Was it after you ran the 0-60 in 4.53sec?
Sorry... couldn't help myself.

Yea, it was that day Rick Hunter, you can hear it in the video if you listen closely when I break and take that right corner. It's a high pitch sweak.

Hmmm, in that case, maybe you were clenching the steering wheel really tight (@ least tighter than you normally would under normal driving)?

Hey AJ. You may have read on zpost (4um?) about my steering column getting replaced under warranty. The early electric steering columns had problems under heat where they would become "sticky". Mine got to the point where above 90F the wheel would not completely center on its own coming out of a corner. Might want to see if you can get it replaced before the warranty runs out.

I am having the same problem with my 2004 Z4. I took it to my local BMW Service center and they wouldnt replace it under warranty. They wanted to charge me 700+ dollars to repair it. Does anyone know exactly what the problem is and what parts need to be replaced??? Im hoping i can do it myself or have an independent dealership fix it for alot less!!
