Steering wheel spokes respray

After a lot of looking around for the non MFSW silver steering wheel spokes, and finding that the cost of the MFSW ones were over £200, i decided to spray them the same colour as the car (titanium silver) as i think black spokes let the interior down especially with the aluminum interior detailing.

I also found that the silver door handle trims were badly scratched and in need of a refurb so i decided to do these too, along with the BMW door sill covers.

They were so easy to remove and in my opinion they look 100% better and compliment the interior.

What do you think ?

Nice one...I really really like it!

Have you got a pic of the steering wheel with the rest of the dash included so we can see what the silver looks like against the aluminium dash?

How much did it cost? Did you do it yourself?

I like the idea and way better than black spokes and a cheap way to add life back to the tired door pulls.

My preference would be to a satin finish to match the dash and would have reservationsquestion the durability... However did you use real spray paint (as opposed to a can) and several layers of lacquer?

Look forward to the wider pictures you're taking

I think I'm going to get my spokes and door pulls (which are a little scratched) done now! Maybe in a slightly darker shade closer to the original finish. The silver looks great on your car though against the dash and the leather.

thanks very much, i am very pleased with the finish, after having a few minor dents removed from the exterior the car is now complete, would just like some csl wheels now to really finish off !! £££££££££££££

That's great to have it properly painted, so will add a level of durability to it as well as a deep paint finish - nice work and cost effectiove too given the price of replacement parts from BMW

Nice job  want to do mine only i am changing from Silver to Black as i prefer the plain black steering wheel and cannot afford my M.Wheel at the mo also looking at spraying roll bar covers black and would like to door pulls re trimed in leather if possible.

Very nice indeed.

I like the black on mine - but then if i had an alloy center console silver would no doubt look 100x better.

I like the two tone seats you got too... match the silver even more!

When I read the title, - NOOOO....

When I saw the result - wow.

You look to have achieved a very good finish. Not easy to do....can end up looking like dog poo (runs, overspray, general DIY ish ness)

Hi Mate,

Where abouts in Lincolnshire you from? Might wish to extend some cash to you, to have a look at mine in the future, it looks well impressive :)

Steve
