Steering Wheel Spoke Refurb

Hi All.

The spokes on my M-Sport wheel are starting to look quite ropey. The material they used to paint them is a horrible rubbery stuff that gets marked very easily.

Has anyone removed the spokes and refurbed them? Any tips?

Mine too! Looked at them again and noticed how rough they are looking.

Would need someone to do mine though... the DIY element would be a step too far
 
Not done mine on the Z4 bas it was cheap enough to just pick up a set of new spokes,

My daughter's 1 series wheel was however in a mess. Peeled all the rubber finish off, sanded, primed and sprayed with rattle can.

Been perfect for a year since, so a doable and easy repair, albeit peeling the old rubber surface off is a pita..
 
I've found some soft touch lacquer which I will be trying on mine when the weather warms up again. It's meant to be hard wearing.

Changed mine to Satin Black when I had the wheel recovered by Royals...

Gentle rub down to remove the rubberised paint, etch then respray in satin black, lasted a year now with no marking.
