Steering Wheel Cover

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and I’m wishing I’d done it a long time ago. There is a leather steering wheel cover on eBay and Amazon made by a company called Mewant that is made to perfectly fit an e85 Z4. It sells for around $60 and that’s probably why I was hesitant to purchase it. I thought it would be a POS. It turned out really nice.

It goes directly on top of the existing leather so it adds a little girth to the wheel which I like with my large hands. It is also super soft and has a nice feel. It requires removal of the airbag and spoke covers and it is easiest if you remove the entire wheel to ease the stitching process. I did the entire job in a couple hours. No big deal. Here are some pics.

They're really nice - I've used the Mewant cover on mine and love it!

For what it's worth, you can get them off AliExpress for about £15 - £20

It's an old picture, but steering wheel still looks the same :)

did mine last fall...
rather than use the supplied 'red' upholstery thread, I purchased some 'blue' upholstery thread and blended them
