Steering Wheel control surround peeling

Hi all,

Looking for some advice.
On either side of the steering wheel, the silver plastic surround is peeling. It wouldn’t usually bother me but it is quite sharp. It’s like the coating is detaching from the plastic (see pictures).

I want to replace it like for like. I have tried sourcing the parts but all I can find is the button inlays. I have also considered removing them and recovering them in silver vinyl.

Before I start, just wondered if anyone had some thoughts or an idea of the parts.

I had a similar issue on standard spokes with the shadow chrome finish. I found that underneath it is a bright shiny chrome finish. By taking my time and using the edge of a 1p coin I was able to remove the flaking layer and now have shiny ‘chrome’ spokes.
