Steering shaft

I have an E85 2006 Z4MR and the steering shaft has started to make an occasional clunk noise, heard from just ahead of the bulkhead driver's side.
The driveability is unaffected, but, apparently, there is some wear in the steering shaft vertically, a small amount of play, so replacement is necessary maybe.
The part, 32307836811, has been discontinued by BMW. Any recommendations on sourcing a replacement.
My mileage is at 95k.
Thanks.

Here you go

Or possibly get a standard shaft and speak to @Usel as he has been modifying these to convert zeds to hydraulic power steering. Ends up the same but cheaper than a proper M one.

There are serviceable parts inside the shaft. If you wanted to me to take a look at it then you'd have to post it to me as I'm a long way from Manchester.

Have you had the shaft removed from the car?

If so, is there any play in the bottom U-joint? If the bottom UJ is good then it is possible to fix your current shaft.

The shaft is still on the car, which I'm about to put away for the winter with occasional dry road use.
Thinking of doing the job in the Spring.
