Steering rack u joint Q

Hey

I’ve been told a knock I have in the front of my z is from the u joint coming from the rack , does the rack need changing or can this joint be reconned

Racks are silly money from BMW

Hi, I had this last year and thought it was the u-joint - however it ended up being a slight amount of play in the wishbone ball joint nearest the tyre. Check that out but the ujoints come as a part at about £200 when I checked.

Think your right , had a friend look at it on a lift and recons its an inner bush, cheaper fix
