Steering rack renewal

Hi all, after replacing everything that shakes rattled on z4 e85 have found the rack has got play in it, creating an horrendous knocking noise over certain bumps.
Anyone else had renew a rack if so what was best solution. Reconditioned unit or chance a second hand unit. Brand new genuine out the question.

Is there a repair kit for these steering racks? Or just chuck em in the bin.

Exchange reconditioned is usually the best option, I'd guess around £300 maybe? The biggest challenge will be finding stock (of anything!) at the moment. Used wear components like a rack are a risk, it will be from a scrapper that's perhaps be 15 years old.

Thanks for help of offering to fit. Any advice on best place to get a recon rack from. Have seen some places offering good warranty on recon racks. Always find recommendations on places that do good recon racks. It's a minefield sometimes.
