Steering rack play

Ok so new to the car, when bought the MOT showed advisory play to inner tie rod. No problem ordered inner & outer tie rods for both sides. Car in the air yep definately play when moving wheel side to side.
Changed all today not too difficult at all, but still got play.
Quick troll though the internet and it is suggested steering rack thrust piece adjustment or replace. I can only find for newer models is this possible on a 2007 2.5si?
This forum is immense for knowledge and advice to which I hope I can add once I have some experience.

Ok so looking throught the forums, it looks like a lot of folks have similar problems to mine. So today decided to take another look as replacing or repairing the steering rack doesn't look like a speedy resolve.
For me I think I have found the problem, being one of the UJ on the shaft from column to rack is complete toast. Now my mission is to find someone who can exchange or repair the UJ locally. I have enclosed some pictures showing my problem. Hope this will guide others with similar problem. Now just got work out how to uplad a small video showing it.

Simpler to fit a complete shaft in good condition. I’m sure a few on here will have spares.
I have one that’s done 60k and is in very good condition.
Not back home until late on Saturday though, so would be posted Monday.
If anyone else can help you faster that’s a better option.
