Steering rack fail & Ball Joint...1 week after passing MOT?!

Well what would you know...The car was put through the test once again and they passed it, given the known faults.
I was shocked when the vosa inspector said and his own words "yes there is a clicking sound coming from the gaitor, however I am not sure this is a failure. I also can't find any play in the ball joint. Don't think your car has one and to be honest I am not familiar with your particular model"
This was a joke to say the least and am not the type to feel conspired against but I arrived 10 mins late at the mot station and the vosa inspectors and station owner were all having a jolly chin wag.
I am stumped as to what to do now... (yes I know get it fixed)

Have you managed to get it sorted?? I can't describe how much I miss this car, I probably talk about it with friends/family at least every other day...!
Last I heard you were lowering it, putting a supercharger on it and some other tasty mods planned?! What's the current situation?
Anyways, hope you're well. I'm still in my grandad Skoda vRS and am no where near having enough dosh to be back in a Z4M for quite some time unfortunately :'(
Really miss being part of this forum, was a really fun part of my life but just wouldn't be the same without owning a Z4...! Hope all you guys are well and enjoying the summer in your epic machines!
