Steering Question

I just bought a 2004 Z4 for my son who just joined the Navy. The car only has 30k miles on it but there is a steering issue. I have the binding (stiff) feeling to get past when steering making slight turns. It has done it each time that I have taken it out, except for when I drove it in the rain ? It steered perfectly and smooth.I want to fix it before he gets out of boot camp to take it away. Is there a lubrication point for this problem? Or will I have to drive it to a Dealor? THANKS
 
Check out sticky steering posts it needs a new steering rack as they were a problem in 2004 cars the ECU suffers under heat had mine replaced with the latest rack
 
yes same as mine ok when cold but when it gets hot it get's sticky and jerky acording to bmw uk they have never heard of this which is a joke this problem is all over this forum mass complaint to bmw on the cards i think
