Hi all,

Went to the mechanic yesterday and he said all is ok with the bushes at the front end, he says there is no play anywhere. but i am convinced there is an issue with the steering, it just doesnt feel tight at all to me. maybe i need a new steering rack? i dont know. or maybe i'm expecting too much from the car ( i am used to m cars).

a few symptoms i've had;

-sticky feeling through steering wheel, almost like while the wheels are turning, they are sometimes getting stuck a long the way.
-the feeling that the wheels are sometimes veering off in their own direction/are loose/have some play
-whining sound coming from steering when car is stopped, in neutral and turning the steering wheel clockwise to full lock. there was a loud whiny sound for most of the duration.
-general feeling that steering is not tight

thanks all in advance for your help!

After checking the bushes which you have had done already, Tracking is a biggy on these babies, its worth getting it checked, also Runflats don't provide the best ride on uneven roads and can cause your Zed to drive in any direction it feels fit lol

for me dropping from 19" alloys to 18" made things a little better, but the Zed's appears to be a bit directional anyhow compared to normal cars

I know theres a tracking issue but didnt feel like it would create all of the above symptoms. my plan was to get everything else done first and then do the tracking at the end.

Could it be this?

This is sorted now (pretty much). Looks like it was the issue in the link I posted above. Shockingly simple fix hugely improving the handling.
