Please forgive me if this is an old/known issue - I am new the Z4 (albeit a previous Z3 owner). I have a 2006 3.0Si Auto with c. 90k miles. Condition good if not concours. For those interested Red/18" Two-piece alloys etc. Thoroughly enjoyed the last few weeks of good weather and the engine is a joy.
I may be going mad but it feels, often noticed at speed (not excessive) that there is a delay or slight flat spot in the steering, when pointing dead-ahead - it is if I lose some responsiveness in a few degrees of turn in that central position. Barely noticeable most of the time when driving and turning but I have noticed it when driving down motorways/A roads and where I am just keeping to a central route in a lane.
Not so noticeable as to be worrying (yet), albeit anything steering related gives me concerns, particularly if it is potentially a fault that could get worse.
Can anyone help - am I going mad or is this an established fault. If so, can it be fixed and do I need a mortgage extension to pay for it??
