steering feel how to improve

Hello all.

decided the steering lacked feel and detailed feedback (compared to some more focused cars anyway).

Has anyone done anywork to improve on this specific aspect. I'm thinking suspension geometry and settings mainly. any advice welcome. :)

For non m cars we can fit m style lower control arms ( they are the same as ours but a bit stiffer) together with the solid one piece M offset bushes. This will make the front end more eager. Moreover the offset bushes will add some extra caster.

Powerflew bushes, had not though of that thanks Peddy. Im on 74000km so they'll need replacing soon anyway.

Anyone got a clue as to suspension settings? what about removing the caster plates (or something like that I've read about) on the OEM suspension? :tumbleweed:

I won't be getting replacement suspension until Sept/Oct.

Well mine is not an ///M but like yourself I wanted to improve the 'feel' from the steering after coming from a car that was a bit more communicative in that department. After discussing the issue with the likes of Simpson Motorsport in the UK and Bliss Autosport here I fitted good quality non runflat tyres, a three piece strut brace and Powerflex polybushes to the track control arms. If the ///M is the same as the 3.0 I think you can also unscrew the locating pin on the top of the suspension strut and get a bit more negative camber there which will increase steering sensativity but at the expense of straight line stabilty, which I wanted to preserve. You pays your money and takes your choice. I also fitted Eibach Pro coil springs but dont believe they made any noticable difference to the steering and aTurner Motorsport bush limiter kit to the rear trailing arm bushes. That made quite a difference to the stability of the car when coming hard out of corners particularly on a poor road surface but again not sure wether or not they influence steering feel. These mods have for me improved the comfort, feel and stability of the car in day to day driving however I should point out I dont do Trackdays, thats a different ball game, coilovers, BBK's etc. So if you are looking to go further there are many on here with more knowledge and wider experience than myself in this department.
