Steering, feature or Issue?

So I've had this car a year but only last week took drive to Scotland and back (all other trips have been round the doors )
So 7 hour trips
In my opinion it's heat related
Very evident on motorways and back roads but two hours or so into the journey I'd say

This was my plan have a look and come up with a little heat jacket for knuckle joint in the steering shaft
I'm guessing none of the lhd cars have this problem

That’s exactly what my old car used to do! Would be super curious if you find a solution.

I had mine fixed.
They replaced the bottom part of the steering and that did not fix it.
They then replaced the middle part. Same thing.

They finally had to replace the whole steering column (under warranty luckily)

I noticed that it was heat related as well.

In my opinion it is even dangerous and should be a recall....

Well at least we know what to ask for. They tried the steering rack on my old car and it didn’t really solve it I don’t think. Got a new car shortly after.

My problem was always replicating it for the dealership as when cold it was pretty much always fine.

Did they ever explain how the steering column could cause this issue? Surely it’s just a metal rod?
