Hi All
Has anyone had the electronic steering ECU repair done?
Can you recommend anyone that does it
Had the dreaded yellow light and no power steering this morning whilst out , managed a reset and got home ok but am I right in thinking the ECU is on its last legs ?
Any advice welcomed
Thanks

Easy-peasy. Whip the motor off and send it to ECUTesting. Comes back fixed with a lifetime warranty.
Buy the service through their eBay site as for some reason it is cheaper. £295 all in.
I am assuming you will be removing and refitting it yourself?

Hi, when this happened to me restarting the car fixed it for the first two times then it became permanent after that.

If you have access to ista on a laptop then when the light is on and you scan the car for codes and the eps module is displayed as red ie it can't even communicate with it then this is a clear indication the module needs repairing. Other code readers should be able to read all the cars modules to but I don't know which ones, if it does read the module you should have codes stored.

Ecu testing is the only place that I know of and that's where I sent mine, turn around is very quick and supposedly they fix the issue permanently and offer life time guarantee, only difficulty is getting the motor out of the car this requires removing the seat and a few covers to get access to it, some even remove the steering wheel I found I could do it without doing this.

Here's a link to the thread I made when it happened to my car, hope this helps

Thanks all for the info, it’s much appreciated
Light came back on just driving it into my garage
☹️ and it’s not drivable, will try the code reader first

A job for a dry weekend I think

Code reader will say it cannot see the ecu. In addition the sport button won’t work. Give yourself a couple of hours to get the motor out.
PM me and I’ll give you my mobile number to talk you through it. But not 14/3 to 25/3 as I’ll be in by Egypt,
