Steering doesn’t feel right

Sorry, I can't help you on this - but I think you've got more chance of sensible suggestions of help if you post a little more info.
What age is the car?
Presumably, it's not a Z4M?
And, most importantly, what do you mean by 'feeling strange'? Pulling, stiffness, heavy, light, inconsistent amount of assistance, reluctance to self-centre, reluctance to deviate from centre, affected by speed of driving, etc etc?

Hydraulic convertion all day long! Love mine. Makes it feel and drive like a sports car. Not a low long shopping car.

Ergen motorsport did me a quote last year for a hydraulic conversion which I should've done as I had the spare cash! Think they're in Portsmouth?
Cheaper thing to do is get a decent alignment :thumbsup:

It’s a 2003 3.0se
It’s just weird I guess it feels light it doesn’t really self centre
I guess it’s just don’t feel right
 
Have you tried adjusting the concentric ring on the electric motor, just above the drivers knees. When my motor died earlier this year and was sent to ECU testing. On re-fitting it, I adjusted the ring as others have described on here and my steering is sooo much better now :thumbsup:

The so-called sticky or notchy steering is the first thing that came to my mind - but as far as I'm aware it makes itself known in hot weather; I presume the OP is in the UK. And I think only occurs on pre-facelift cars - which is why I suggested the OP give the info about his car...

Its very slow but i am very close. I am just struggaling to find any time to work on it.
I am working 60 plus hours a week. And my wife is working weekends so i am looking after the mini monkey.

Yeah its bolt on parts fairly simple job. Having a light on the dash and getting the TC working right isthe biggest issue. But for me that didnt matter as i am no longer using the BMW ECU.
